[Postcard -- Scene: CHATEAUNEUF-de-CONTES et Vallée de Coaraze]

March 13. 19, Nice France.

Dear Cecil- I visited old Chateauneuf on top of that peak you see so prominant. It is almost 2000 ft high. was almost 2 hrs. getting to the top. This was built before Christ by Ceasar & ruined by earth quake in 1630. a regular human ant hill. From here you have a most wonderful view of the snow capped Alps. This is one of them only not so high. Visited Islands of St. Honorat & St Marguerite. I cant begin to describe on paper what I've seen in the last three days.
