Nice, France, Mar 10-1919-

Dear Cecil. Had a very interesting trip from Lux. to Lyon, France. But I havent the ability to describe our trip down the Rhone river, thru tunnels from Lyon to Marseilles. the last part from Marseilles to Nice, along the seacoast was certainly the best part. The scenery was wonderful & the houses, hotels & grounds, make a beautiful seacoast the entire distance it seems. It gave me a rather peculiar sensation, standing before the Casino this afternoon looking out over the Mediterranean to the horizon, the snow capped Alps of Italy as a back ground, breathing the balmy atmosphere of this ancient city of 530 B.C.
