MISS STELLA DODD
Sad Death of Quincy Nurse at Peoria
State Hospital
Miss Stella Dodd died this morning at the State hospital in Peoria, where she was a nurse. Her death is very sad. She was a victim of the "influenza" and after a week's illness, her life closed just when it seemed full of promise of usefulness in her profession of mercy. She went to the hospital about three months ago to take up her work there under the direction of her cousin, Dr. Trigger, who is a prominent member of the faculty of the hospital.
Miss Dodd was born at Peru, Ill., twenty-two years ago. She lived in Quincy with her parents and their family, about six years before she went to the Peoria hospital. She was employed at the Princess Candy store for some time. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dodd of 664 1/2 Maine street, who survive as do also brothers and sisters as follows: Jacob Dodd with the American forces in France, Walter and Arthur Dodd of Quincy, Mrs. Fred Slingerland of this city and Ethel and Dorothy at home.
Mrs. Slingerland and her mother, Mrs. Dodd, went to Peoria, Saturday and will return this evening with the remains of Miss Dodd. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
